Some believe that the Sour Diesel strain simply comes from the Chemdawg phenotype, which was somewhat different and more on the sativa side of the equation. The most popular theory of the order is that the original diesel is the result of a cross between (Chemdawg x Super Skunk x Northern Lights). Often called "Sour D", this predominantly sativa hybrid (90% sativa, 10% indica) gains its unique name from almost diesel and citrus it publishes.
While I know Sour Diesel can only be found in the form of clones and is often quite hard to find. Because of this lack of real Sour Diesel there are many hybrids that have tried to emulate the real Sour Diesel high. Some are coming, but there is nothing like the real thing.
